Overview: The African Blue Diamond Tetra is a fast-swimming schooling fish native to Nigeria. It's bright blue iridescence is eye-catching, and a fantastic addition to a tank full of rockwork or plants. This fish is a schooling fish, and thus will do best in groups … the bigger the better. Larger schools of fish will cause the fish to exhibit behaviors and colors closer to those seen in the wild.

This fish is currently listed as "Vulnerable" on the IUCN Red List, due to deforestation and over construction of its natural habitat.

The African Blue Diamond Tetra is a peaceful fish, suitable for community aquariums. They are fast swimming fish, so if keeping them with slower fish make sure that the slower fish are able to get food when feeding.

Setup Considerations: They don't require anything fancy

Specific Care Requirements: These do best in groups … the bigger the better. Will thrive in standard aquarium parameters.

Diet: Omnivore. Currently eating a variety of prepared foods (Pellets and flakes) as well as live and frozen foods.
