Comment: As usual, all arrived alive. The stiphodon rutilaureus gobies are SO special - and about a month later all 3 are alive - although one of them isn't quite as robust as the other two (not blaming Dan's Fish for that). I love gobies!!

Comment: We watch Dan's livestream often, so we decided to purchase some pea puffers and a pair of Apisto macmasteri 'Red Shoulder'. OMGosh, let me tell you, beautiful, beautiful, super healthy, active and amazing fish! Comment: Great experience overall! Ordered 10 paradise fish and they all arrived alive and well. It’s been a few days now and I’m very pleased, the five wild caught Black Paradise fish are doing great and eat whatever I offer!! The 5 Blue flame Paradise are doing great too but I wasn’t expecting any issues with that variety. Will order again once the fish I’ve been looking for are in stock again.

Comment: I received my fish this morning. I had set up a separate tank for my female when she arrived. Even though I had used Old media from another tank, I got nervous that it wasn't cycled enough. I took the "tank boss" and his crony's out of my main tank and decided to put her in there. I had a male already so I knew to keep a close eye on her. When they saw each other she immediately colored up . He had zero aggression towards her and took his role of keeping other fish away from her. I fed them after about 20 minutes and she ate! I know i am going on and on but I am so excited! She is super healthy and happy in her new tank. I will be sitting here all night watching them to make sure everyone keeps getting along. It is amazing how happy a little fish can make you! Three hours after I wrote this review, they’re already mating in a cave. And he’s not being rough with her!

Comment: Wow the golden australe is the prettiest fish I've ever owned. The gardneri pair came in quite large and i can see the female was gravid on arrival. Both pairs came in perfect health and are still in perfect shape a month later. They are more expensive than they would be at my local fish store. But these fish are top of the line coloration. Will be buying more.

Comment: just a comment... my assistant told me my fish were delivered to my desk, while I was in a meeting today... the box is a plain white small box, & the delivery person was tossing it up & catching it, likely because there was nothing on the outside of the box indicating it was live fish... I'm just letting them rest, a while before I open the box... The fish were packed well, when I opened the box, after an hour or so to rest from their rough trip, all were good

Comment: Living in a major metro area, I’d assumed I had more local options for fish stores. Turns out, I really only have big chains near me. Which pretty much carry the same 25 or so kinds of fish. Comment: This was my 2nd time ordering from Dan’s Fish and won’t be my last. I received all 10 fish alive and looking healthy. I’ve ordered fish online from 3 separate sellers now, Dan’s being the first time because he seemed reputable. I tried buying from another seller who I had heard of before (admittedly because the prices were a bit lower), and i learned my lesson. With the other seller, their responses via email were short and came across as annoyed. I paid for overnight shipping and received all alive in dirty looking water, not individually packaged and unmarked as to what species of fish was in what bag. 5 of 6 of the fish of the same species died within the first two days and 1 left alive was a neon tetra, which isn’t what I paid for. From what I’ve seen, Dan himself explains why his fish are a bit more than some other sellers out there and now I know (or learned for myself) why that is: you truly get what you pay for. I had some questions on this recent order about the pseudomugil species, and again Jonny helped answer them promptly. Lastly, due to my profession, my work hours leave me with one weekday off. And (again), Dan’s Fish accommodated my request so that I could ensure I’d be home to receive the fish I ordered. Each fish is individually packaged in water that appears clean, every fish appeared healthy and every bag is clearly marked so you know what you’re getting. After a horrible experience from another online seller, I appreciate Dan’s philosophy of wanting people to receive healthy, quality fish even more now. If there’s a certain kind of fish you want and can’t find locally, I highly recommend Dan’s. Especially if health & quality of the fish as well as transparency from who you’re buying from, matter to you.

Here you are: The UPS fella (was tracking the truck) drove around like a blind mouse...sure glad his phone headset was working, so he could continue his imperative, personal conversations, Robinhood stock tips via Nancy Pelosi, or simply checking on the status of the war in Ukraine. Found this fun fact out, when he interrupted his conversation to ask "Jeff?" at delivery and clocked the delivery.............Once the blind, very hip, and up-to-date on world affairs man left, the order arrived with some overheated bags (actually could've been worse, since that day was overcast here in SWFL). A couple fellas arrived super-stressed...freaked. All hands on deck, bags in tank IMMEDIATELY, reached out to Dan's Fish during the temps cool-down, and then drip acclimation to ease their journey from the "death valley" heat. Customer service absolutely took care of me, the fish are ABSOLUTELY-KILLER! In +/-40 years of off-and-on fishkeeping (I'm one of the nerds that bought the hard cover encyclopedia of tropical fish back in the '80's with my allowance), the. singlemost. beautifully-conditioned. specimen. ever. From stressed to fully colored/settled in within 24 hours - this, I believe, is the truest testament to their health at the time of shipping. IF you're on the fence in terms of cost (like I was, frankly), scope out the Dan's Fish tours on YT. He runs through their best practices, quarantining, feeding, keeping, and gives the low-down, per species...and is open on their pricing (whether generally or per species). I absolutely will be back (when my regular, more professional UPS driver returns from vacation, dropping my deliveries at +/- the beginning of his route!?). Plus, I became a bit of a chatty cathy over email with Dan's Fish (apologies to whomever was fielding all the those)...all emails had a response :) If you made it to the end of this review, I congratulate you and wish you the best of luck in your, personal fishkeeping journey!

Comment: Ordered 5 bumblebee golby and 5 platinum half halfbeak fish. All the fish arrived alive but raggedy. All but one of the halfbeaks have no tailfin at all. Had a golby die the next day due to no fins and was bullied by the others. So far every one else is doing great , eating bloodworms and flakes right away and starting to heal. Out of the 10 I've received 9 are still doing amazingly well the last 5 days. Bumblebee gobys being wild caught where in much better condition then the aquarium raised halfbeaks for the 3 stars. Will buy more from Dan's fish again.

Comment: Firstly, all my fish arrived and they are so incredibly healthy. After acclamation, I dropped them in my tank and they are all swimming around exploring like they’ve lived here forever. They seemed so happy that I went ahead and fed them and they all ate readily. Apart from the wonderful fish, I am so impressed by the customer service at Dan’s Fish. What a wonderfully run company! I love that a company with a good mission statement is successful. You guys deserve it!

Comment: Good morning. Just sharing that I just received my second order ever of fish from you. All 10 fish arrived alive and well. The 23 fish from my first order shipped on 6/24 also arrived alive and and are doing well. I am so happy with your shipping and packing. Worth every penny. When they arrive they aren’t bouncing around wildly in the bag. Very little fish poop if any in the bags. Just the perfect amount of water in each individual bag. And the care of the placement of the bags in the box is evident. I am nearing 60 years of age and have had no more than one tank since i was in my teens. About 3 years ago I converted to a dirted substrate and heavily planted tank and have never enjoyed the hobby or had as much success with plants and fish as I do now. I look forward to staying with you as a customer and as a subscriber to your YouTube channel. Hope you receive many more likes and reviews like this one.

Comment: This was my first time ordering fish online. Was extremely impressed with shipping process, packaging of fish and overall health of fish (I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such chonky leopard cory fish😂) One of the hillstream loaches was doa, and I promptly received a refund. I had one Pygmy Cory that quickly went down hill and died a few days later, and they refunded that one as well. It’s been several weeks now and all of the other fish ordered have thrived. I will definitely order from this site again !!!!!

Comment: Received the order Tuesday - now it's Saturday and all are healthy and adjusted well to their new home. The red neon blue eyes were tiny but I swear they are growing as I watch them! Seriously - in just 4 days they are noticeably larger. The coral red pencilfish are absolutely stunning - well worth the price. I have wanted these for awhile but just had to wait for them to be available at the right time.

Comment: I'm blown away on how badly the Hi-fin Wag Swordtails are banged up. The females look like their fins are burned-- they are shredded and missing areas. The male is barely swimming; I will be amazed if the male survives the first 24 hours. The Sultan Pleco seems to be have fared much better and is doing fine.

Comment: All 23 fish arrived alive and active. I was very surprised that each fish was individually packaged and labeled. This is a huge plus to me as a hobbyist. The water they arrived in was clean and clear. There was minimal if any fish poop in each fish’s bag which indicates to me a lower stressful trip. Thank you!

I had been dealing with another fish place and got ich covered cpd's with almost no tail or fins left. all 5 died during drip acclimation and setting up a quarantine tank, the place Said they were healthy when they packed them and asked for pictures of dead fish. I didn't want more fish from that place and to lie like that I just won't do business with them anymore. dans fish arrived happy and healthy and already colored up, I used to have to wait weeks for fish from the other place to acclimate. I love dans fish and they will have all my future business.great packaging and healthy fish. they are doing it right. UPDATE 1 WEEK LATER...I still can't believe the difference. I have been dealing with other online fish retailers and have always received juvenile fish, so young and unhealthy that I couldn't tell the difference between cpd's and dwarf emerald rasboras. always arrived with at least one dead and half eaten most diseased and malnourished. it would always take weeks for them to open their fins and color up(if they lived that long).dans fish arrived fully colored and zesty. I added 3 dwarf emerald rasboras to my existing 5 and my existing five always stayed hidden in the plants or behind the bubble wall, the new guys are much more active and not as shy, they come out to eat. I also added 4 cpd's to my existing 2 and all are out swimming about. one of the new ones, I know because he is smaller, has become the dominant male already. he is beautiful with dark coloring, bright spots and wide open fins and tail with deep orange and black and orange underside. I will never buy online from anyone else but dan. I am so happy I found them, I just wish I had sooner. I've wasted a lot of time and money on sick baby fish and shrimp and put my existing stock at risk introducing these sub par fish into my tanks. thank you dan you are doing it right, I wish I could tell all online fish buyers to stop messing around with other places and deal with you only.

Comment: I wanted to wait at least 72 hours after I received the order before I reviewed the fish I ordered from Dan's Fish. I've been in the hobby since 1988 (36 years) and this is the first time I ordered live fish in the mail. The two Female Blue Kribs I ordered are doing fine now. I took the order directly from the hands of the UPS delivery driver and immediately began the acclimation process. They took about a day to settle in and start eating. One female is more aggressive than the other one was so I had to split them up on the second day because she was constantly bullying the other one. I couldn't find any Super Red females locally for the two male Super Reds I have so I am going to pair the Blue Females with the Super Red males and see what kind of offspring I get from the mix. I would recommend your company to any other first time mail order customers and I will probably be a return customer in the future. Thanks again, J.T.
