By way of explanation, we can't put cold packs in this time of year because temperatures are too cold here in our area. We find that if we ship them in clean water with good insulation, temperatures in the box usually end up being okay even when the fish are sent to warmer areas. I'm glad it worked out and they traveled well :). -Dan

Comment: I've browsed through Dan's Fish in the past and thought "yikes" the prices are steep! After stumbling into one of his YouTube videos about WHY the prices are what they are and wanting to find the best quality fish for breeding purposes I decided to pull the trigger on 3 Apistogramma Trifasciata. When I say the fish are stunning, you would have to place an order yourself to see what I mean. I emailed them to request possibly choosing at least 1 male and 1 female on the "unsexed" Trifasciatas and they added a note to my order (which I was able to see on my order) to try to ensure my request was accommodated and they did just that. I am not saying this will always work out for everyone that makes requests on unsexed orders but the fact they went out of their way to reply to my email for such request and then deliver on said request is great customer service. This may come off as a fake review but I guarantee you IT IS NOT. All I can say is, if you're on the fence, give them a try! You will not be disappointed. And in the off chance you are, I am confident that they will do whatever they have to do to resolve your issue. I will be ordering again from Dan's Fish, thanks Dan and team!

Comment: I order fish often from other suppliers and to be frank, I was astounded in the difference of quality from Dan’s Fish. Upon arrival, temperature was constant, fish were alert, but not stressed. After acclimation, I saw just how quickly they colored up, and to my astonishment, the size… wow. They are doing very well after several weeks, and the ethics of care and dignity afforded these little ones is obvious. Comment: This is my second order from Dan’s. All fish alive and healthy. I can’t say the same about fish I’ve bought locally and from other internet sellers. Not going to bother buying fish anywhere else again. The higher price you pay here evens out when you have no losses.

Comment: Really happy with all the fish I got. Compared to other online shipments this was the first time I had 100% survival rate after 1 day. 1 week later I have ~100 cory eggs in 3 different batches already. It seems like all 6 of them paired up and was at breeding age when sent out. Ember tetras are also doing fine all of them alive and thriving.
