  • Comment: I am floored at how amazing these fish arrived! All fish were double bagged in their own individual bags and came in active and healthy. I have them all in my own personal quarantine tank and they all made the night swimmingly! I'm never going to buy from another online fish store. Dan is serious about the hobby and the ethical practices of shipping fish and I would gladly pay this price again for the quality of fish I received! Thanks Dan!!

  • Comment: Just one thing. .might be that I did not navigate but here it is. On you page it stated that the box is filled 42% of volume and suggested to shop for more fish. I did that and it bumped it to increased box size instead. The issue I have is that from there I could not go back and fine tune it. Eventually orderd fish came within that one original box. Only extras needed additional box. Ultimately it is not big issue but lack of communication might be. Somehow I think that I should be part of decision making. I was not prepared for those little tetras and although I love the fish I had to put then in a 5gall bucket"aquarium"..from your good deed it became problem for me. Fish look great and although they were a day too late they are doing just fine. Thanks Charles

Although a little apprehensive, I was encouraged by all the positive comments I was hearing online about Dan’s Fish. My case was even a little more involved as I live in Hawaii and needed to get an import permit! Well no need to be concerned! My fish arrived in one day … all the way from Wyoming to Honolulu … and are doing great. They arrived very well packaged and healthy. Couldn’t be happier!

  • Comment: I give a 5 for delivery. All fish were alive and doing great. The only issue are that the Platinum Rummy Nose Tetra are dying. Of the five I am down to three. They seem to be swimming fine and eat well but then they sink to the bottom and die overnight. I’m not complaining but just wanted to make you aware.

  • Comment: I ordered 12 Purple Harlequin Rasboras from Dan’s Fish. They were packed in the box with care. Each fish was in its own bag and all arrived alive and healthy. They were pale upon arrive due to travel stress but colored up as soon as I started floating they’re bags in my quarantine tank. This weekend I transferred them to my 40g breeder and they colored up even more. They are gorgeous and all have remained healthy and have eaten well from the beginning. Communication and customer service has also been great. My questions were always answered promptly. I highly recommend Dan’s Fish. I found the experience exceptional.

That’s amazing customer service. Impossible for a shop to always have 100% live arrival - so the issue is not the DOA itself - but how they respond to it. Buy from Dan’s Fish.

Since I live in a city that has few options to purchase fish, I decided to try online sources. My experience with ordering from other places was not great and sadly I lost too many fish in transit. Sourcing good healthy livestock is the most important thing you can do to have a successful experience with any species. Very rarely will fish get better over time if they don't start out genetically sound and disease free. To me, finding superior fish and having them arrive safely makes Dan's Fish the best deal you will find.

I was not emailed any label info or shipping info from UPS and emailed them 8pm the night they were suppose to be going out and delivered the next day and they were quick to respond! just A+ customer service. It was obvious that they were well taken care of before they came to me. I've bought about thirty or so of the dwarf corys (both varieties) from other vendors over the past two years. Within a week they dwindled down to one or two. It's been just shy of two weeks since yours arrived and they are breeding and interacting in a way I've never witnessed before. No casualties as of now. Just got to say thank you for the effort. I couldn't be happier!

I will order again Update.. my little guys died all but 2 out of 6 .. I checked all my levels and found nothing wrong .. they were not eating from the start , which led me to believe they were just stressed out .   • Comment: I ordered 6 Smudge spot Corydoras and 1 Panda Garra. All the fish arrived hale and hearty and were well packaged. I was very pleased to see that each Cory was packed with a piece of charcoal to offset any possible toxicity from stress release of their "venom" which I was slightly concerned about. After finally releasing them into the Leopoldi angelfish aquarium and observing them for several hours they are grouping well and have started searching for food. I should have ordered a few more and probably will. The Panda Garra was released into an Asian style community tank and immediately started munching away on algae and exploring. It did not revert to stress coloration at any time. Appears confident & content. Extremely pleased with the fish that have been impossible to find locally, as well with experience provided by Dan's Fish. Top notch!

  • Comment: This was the first order I actually had an issue with from Dan's. Bit annoyed by UPS right now, but Dan's Fish was extremely positive. I ended up losing half the order, but Dan's Fish worked with me on it and more than made it up to me. As Dan mentioned in the livestream, he actually considers why you'd be buying specific quantities from him. If half a pair doesn't make it, he may replace the lost fish so that your breeding project doesn't suffer. And the replacements aren't just culls he had sitting around, they're great looking fish in their own right. For an order that had as much trouble as it did, Dan's Fish went above and beyond to turn it around. I'm very pleased with the result. I've bought from him before, and I don't plan to ever stop.

  • Comment: Dan takes amazing care of his fish, better than most fishkeepers I'd say. At first glance I found his pricing too high but have come to recognize the costs more than reasonable. This was my first experience with an online shipper giving more than a 4-5 hour window for delivery. Dan gave a specific hour, and then was twenty minutes early. I can't imagine shopping anywhere else.

I don't blame Dan for this since it was likely on my end -- I came home a few hours after delivery meaning the box sat in my room for added time. HOWEVER, I am fully sold on the quality at Dans fish bc these fish perked up and tonight (less than a week later!) they were already exhibiting spawning behavior!   • Comment: Order finally arrived 3 Days late thanks to UPS dropping the ball. Fortunately all 15 Rummy Nose Tetra survived the long trip in the dark. Hopefully they will make the adjustment to their new home and their little red noses will start glowing. Only took a few hours for all the Red Noses to light up. Now they’re constant motion, best schooling fish ever !
