  • Comment: Wow! What a quick turn around. I ordered 6 fish, each in its own sealed bag in an insulated box. Temp was still 76 when I opened the box. Each fish was active and spryly moving around. No sluggishness as expected. I will definitely be using Dan's Fish again. Thank you

  • Comment: Shipping method was amazing. The tiny Odontocharacidium aphanes- "Hummingbird tetra" arrived in excellent shape. They are my new favorite fish. Unique little creatures darting about in my heavily planted tank. Drip acclimated, they ate baby brine shrimp within 10 minutes of being released into their new home. Thank you Dan's fish, ** first attempt at a youtube vid, don't judge, ;)

  • Comment: Originally ordered five striped silver dollars and decided I wanted seven. Changing my order and sending the additional payment was so easy. All seven came next day shipping. They were packed perfectly with heat packs in Styrofoam. All look super healthy and less than an hour after going in the tank, they have their stripes showing and even took food. Will definitely order from this site again, thanks for your amazing service

  • Comment: All fish from my order made it in perfect condition, no DOA or physical damage. It's been three days now and everyone is out and about, and eating. This is my second time ordering from Dan, my first order also went perfectly. Both orders were solely stiphodon gobies. First batch has been in quarantine for about 2 weeks now, no deaths, no sickness--just fat bellies and active fish. Second batch looks just as good. I see no signs of internal parasites, which is always a concern with wild-caught scavengers. 5/5, I'll be back again! Update 1/30/22: All 15 gobies from both orders are through quarantine and into my 110G hillstream aquarium. No losses, everyone is fat and happy. Colored up and doing things gobies should be doing.

  • Comment: If I could give them a 10, I would do it. This has been the best online fish purchase experience I've ever had in my 1 year in the hobby. I ordered and received a beautiful 4+ inch Red Shoulder Severum that arrived healthy, active, and full of coloration. Unlike other online retailers, Dan's Fish kept me informed every step of the way which is rare in this hobby unfortunately. The shipping & packaging was top notch and like nothing I've seen before. The double bags were folded and secure. No leaks like you get with rubber bands. They even included two temp pouch's and a heat pad. They quarantine, medicate, and acclimate prior to sending instead of sending sick fish and blaming the buyers for not quarantining the fish like the other sub par retailers who shall remain nameless. Here's the kicker, they are so confident in the fish they sell that they are willing to refund shipping if something goes wrong and NO ONE does that. Thanks Dan

My favorite part was the individual packages of fish so as not to foul the water if one didn’t make the trip. I was informed what was happening throughout the whole process via email which was awesome. Definitely a great choice and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dan’s Fish to anyone.

  • Comment: Easily the best experience I’ve had with an online fish retailer. I purchased a spotted Congo puffer from Dan and she came in super fat and happy. She was a lot less stressed than other fish I’ve bought online (from other retailers) and I was able to feed her within a hour of putting her in the tank. I was very impressed with the packaging…I’m assuming that had a big part to do with her not being so stressed. As far as contacting Dan’s fish goes, he is transparent and responds to emails very quickly. I will be doing business with him again and I recommend others to strongly consider purchasing from him as well. Thank you, Dan!

It was 12 degrees here in Toledo Ohio this morning and when the fish came in the water in the bag was only 67 degrees. They have been proactively communicating with me on everything throughout and I can’t say enough how good their customer service is and appreciated. My fish arrived this morning overnight, nicely double bagged, insulated with newspaper and heat packed. It’s 38 degrees here in Seattle and was relieved to feel the inside of the box was nice and warm and my fishy friends still perky and alive.   • Comment: Ordering from Dan and his team has been a wonderful experience. I've just received my second order and the process was personal yet very consistent. The customer service is stellar from start to finish and the care they have for the fish and the shipping experience is evident. Dan even took the time to message me on shipping day to double check if I would be okay with males only or if I planned to breed. Gave me some other options incase not, and still managed to get everything packed and shipped per the original schedule. Both orders have arrived on time, by 12pm Next Day, within an hour of each other which made it easier to plan around. All arrived alive and of the two orders/4 species/a total of 31 fish, 30 are alive and thriving with no ailments presenting. Amazing odds when shipping fish. I look forward to the breeding projects to come and many more orders from Dan's Fish. Most definitely worth it if you are looking for a quality experience and fish!

  • Comment: Dan knows his craft. Saw a you tube video of his fish room. He knows his fish. Bought 6 Celestial Perl Danios. They came in induvial bags in an insulated box with a heat pack. They arrived in perfect shape. Put them in a planted quarantine tank. They are full color next day and I believe mating. Not to familiar with CPD's but it don't look like fighting.

  • Comment: Placed an order with DAN'S FISH for an L047 Pleco on a Tuesday night. The following day my fish shipped via Next Day Air. Fish arrived on schedule. Combined cost and shipping rate was FAR SUPERIOR to any other local or online dealer I have found. Product was packaged in a nifty little styrofoam box, which was encased within the shipping box. All excess space was filled with an additional sealed bag of water. This has been my first experience purchasing fish online in nearly two years, due to several horrible experiences with other dealers. The entire ordering experience was done as flawlessly as possible, with the least possible stress to the fish (and myself). This experience has restored my faith in shopping outside of my LFS.   • Comment: Most of the fish came in strong fat and healthy like usual. A few of the licorice gourami’s where rather stressed. Placed them in a quarantine with some other grow out fish with lots of cover. Unfortunately a few didn’t make the transition. Will continue to strengthen the remaining survivors before moving them to a more permanent home. Update: Dan stands behind his word and product. Although the licorice gourami species did not do well in my environment he provided superb customer service through the process. Truly the best.

A weather event and general UPS shenanigans prevented the order from arriving exactly as planned, and this panicky fishkeeper reached out to Dan who very kindly provided emotional support and explained that the fish were packed with plenty of wiggle room in the shipping window. The box was 77 degrees F. upon receipt later in the day when the package magically appeared on my doorstep, and all of the fish are healthy, happy and eating well! The P. luminatus are even more beautiful than the pictures. Dan has shipping down to a science! I will not hesitate to purchase again.

I expected some skittishness when walking past my quarantine tanks, but they are more interested in informing me that it is always dinner time. The Red Beckfordi pencilfish are a pleasant surprise! They color up every time food is added to the tank, and their displays are impressive and peaceful. Lots of personality packed in a compact body. My next order has already been made. Knowing the fish have been quarantined by Dan and medicated when necessary helps me feel confident that I will succeed with new to me species. And the Customer Service cannot be beat.
