I purchased a variety of fish, including: True Siamese Algae Eater Platinum Rummynose Tetras (15) Orange Venezuelan Cories (10) Marbled Hatchetfish 'Rio Nanay' (12) Santa Maria Endler Trio Apisto agassizii 'Fire Red' L519 Honeycomb Bushynose Pleco 'Rio Itenez' Assorted Aquarium Fish Every single fish arrived quickly, healthy, active, and absolutely beautiful. The packaging was professional and clearly done with care, and all the fish were thriving right out of the bag. I was especially curious about the Platinum Rummynose Tetras—at a higher price point, I wasn’t sure if they’d be noticeably different from the regular variety. But wow, they’re stunning—easily among the most beautiful fish I’ve ever owned. Their shimmering, silvery sheen adds a whole new dimension to my tank. Overall, I’m incredibly impressed. Dan’s Fish clearly prioritizes quality, health, and customer satisfaction. I’ll absolutely be ordering again. Highly recommend!

Comment: Healthy fish that arrived in good shape and all are still doing well, over three weeks later. As usual, when there is an issue, Dan's Fish makes it right without hesitation: one of the longfin super red bristlenose plecos I ordered was not in fact long fin (it was a short fin super red). I was immediately given a full refund when I reported this. You can't beat Dan's for the combination of fish quality and customer care.

Comment: Dan's always has beautiful, healthy fish. Quick shipping where all the fish are individually bagged. By individually I mean, if you ordered 35 neon tetras, you'd get 35 individually bagged neon tetras! That may not seem like much but I believe it keeps the fish less stressed and if one were to die in transit, the rest won't be swimming in the rotting soup. It's attention to details like that that keep me coming back!

Comment: Five stars plus! I've never had a sick or dead fish delivered from Dan's Fish--the communication w/seller has ALWAYS been extraordinary. Today I was so worried because UPS informed me that an "exception" had occurred; Dan's Fish looked into it and it turns out to have been a delay in the overnight flight. I was reassured my fish would be healthy in a facility overnight (I know this to be true & was reassured that a package hadn't been squished). Guess what? The fish made another flight and arrived BEFORE expected time of noon today. All are in quarantine right now looking lively and healthy. The corys are the cutest! The colors on the fish tell me they've been cared for--they're popping colors even in the young female guppy--and they're lively, active, and pretty. I'm not kidding when I say I'll never order online fish from anyplace but here!

Comment: Outstanding!! I received my order from Dan’s Fish without any loss. All the fish and shrimp were packaged very well. Their water temp was at 71.3° F which i was able to check in one of the small bags that was included to take up space. Great packaging guys!!! I followed their instructions and released the fish into their new quarantine tank. I did take the time and acclimated the shrimp for about an hour as i know they can be a little more sensitive. Its been 4 days and everyone is still looking really good.

Comment: By far the healthiest fish I have ever purchased. In the past I’ve tried to stock chili rasboras a few times that I picked up from local shops as well as ordered from another site. Out of about 20, only 2 survived. A little over a month ago, I figured I would try one more time and ordered 10 chilis from dans fish. I was a little worried I’d be wasting more money especially since dans is a little more expensive then other places…but I was very pleased when they arrived. They were all so healthy looking and a week later seemed to be thriving, so, I ordered 10 more!! They ALL survived!! I am so happy with the entire process from dans and highly recommend ordering from them.

Comment: This is my 1st time getting any sort of gourami, and these guys have been on my wishlist for a few years now. I finally had a set-up that I thought they would enjoy, and I was right! All 10 sparkling gouramis arrived alive and well, if not a little angry, haha. After the first couple minutes getting over the stress of being added to their new home, the sparkling gouramis quickly started exploring their new tank and were pleased with it, apparently. I've already heard them croaking several times, and they're so friendly they come right to my hand anytime I'm feeding or maintaining the tank. They are with my 17 new chilis and 24 phoenix rasboras that I got from Dan's a couple of months ago. Everyone is coexisting well and a joy to watch!

Comment: I think I understand now why people love these fish. My 17 new chilis are super active, friendly, and colored up within minutes of adding them to my fully planted tank. I did lose one in shipping, which is a first from Dan's Fish for me, but considering everyone else in the shipment looked extremely healthy, I think it was just one of those things (I could have contacted Dan's for the DOA and chose not to, but I know their customer service is great). Also it got way warmer than it was supposed to in Upstate NY that day, which might have been a contributing factor; the dead fish was toward the outside perimeter of the box. Overall I am super pleased! It's been over 2 weeks and everyone looks amazing and happy.

Comment: Ordered 6 panda garra and 2 rainbow goby and they all came individually packaged in the box (8 bags). They were active and looked healthy (though their color was washed out due to stress). I acclimated them and eventually was able to put them in the tank and they very quickly got used to their new environment and became active and colorful again. I think it's safe to say that you're paying for healthy fish.

Comment: All of my green neons are doing well over the last two weeks. They are very hardy peaceful fish that just look beautiful and try to stay out of the bigger fishes way… I just love them. I put one of them in a separate tank as I’ve had this one survivor for over a month of a school of eight neon tetras I got from a LFS (can’t seem to get the ones I get from there to survive longer than a week) they have been hanging out together ever since. It’s sweet that he has a little buddy to hang out with now.

Comment: My Kuhlis are doing well two weeks later. I ordered them for snail control then read some reviews that they actually don’t eat snails… lol.. but I have been observing them cleaning the areas at the bottom of my plants they’re cool little guys. I also ordered a Dwarf Gourami. I named him Piggy because he literally never stops eating. He can be a bully sometimes at feeding time making sure he gets that sinking bug bite before the other guys. I’m feeding less now as I’m afraid he’ll gorge himself to death…lol. He is a beautiful fun fish to watch with a lot of character. I also have a Dumbo Betta who chases him away from his area of the tank but then I observe them sleeping together at night. Too cute!

Comment: I will never purchase fish online from anywhere else but Dan's Fish. Perfect packaging, each fish in an individual bag and marked what kind. Extra water bags included to further pad the foam box and keep temps safe. ALL fish and snails I've gotten from here are healthy and beautiful. Sailfin platy pair from my last order were gorgeous, lively, young, and are happily acclimated in the permanent tank too. Adding to tetra colonies soon and getting some corys. I absolutely trust this site and am excited for my new healthy fish instead of worried about them--next day shipping is the way to go! Thank you so much.

Comment: I purchased 10 Dwarf Neon Rainbows and they arrived in good shape. They seem to have come from two hatchings.. roughly half of them are quite small. I don't mind that at all... if anything, it adds to my interest. They are in a 125 gallon heavily planted tank and it is difficult to count them as they are quite active and are often behind the plants but after several weeks I never see more than 9. I assume one of the small ones didn't make it but will continue to look out for him.

Comment: I am a newcomer in this hobby and am happy to have found Dan's Fish through Aquarium Coop. I have ordered from them multiple times, and have received healthy fish from them. Their customer support is amazing. They have responded in a timely fashion to all of my questions, and have offered me much needed advice, which I very much appreciate, given the conflicting information I found online. I am loyal to Dan's Fish because I lost 5 of the 12 fish I purchased from a LFS right away, from a bacterial infection. I was able to treat the tank and save the remaining 7, but that was expensive, and took weeks before I was able to enjoy my tank again. Buying fish from Dan's requires a little more of an investment upfront, but still a better choice. Also, I find ordering from them very easy. I have added fish to an existing order, and everything recalculated easily, in particular the shipping. Thank you Dan's Fish!

Comment: Amazing customer service and quality fish! My package was lost by UPS (totally a UPS issue, no fault of Dan's Fish!) and was in transit for a week making its way up to MN. Despite that however all four plecos, the two Siamese algae eaters, and 6 of the 8 cherry shrimp I ordered survived the extended transit and are settling in nicely and started eating right away (I am sure they were famished!). The extra care that goes in to prepping and packaging the fish is definitely worth it! This was my first time ever ordering fish online and when the box first was lost I became a nervous wreck, the customer service team was great however and quickly responded to my emails, were talking with in minutes or hours quickly, and calming my fears. It even seemed they were keeping tabs on the shipment as they let me know that UPS had updated the package status before UPS even notified me! Despite the hiccup, which again wasn't their fault, I am very pleased with my purchase and experience and will definitely shop here again!

The cake , the finicky careful sourcing and then the care at your facility . The virus free gourami, not available anywhere as far as I know. The couple extra bucks you charge for your fish is a no brainer well worth it , better vigor , picky selection process , careful quarantining , it’s sooooo worth it . Comment: If Five is the highest rating then my experience was definitely a 5. The communication, excellent packaging and quality of the corys was excellent. All 3 corys were individually bagged and they were all very active. I definitely would have bought more but these were the last 3 in stock. I happened to find another vendor that had some and was able to get 5 more that will be here in a couple of days, as I know that duplicates even more so than other species of corys really need to be in higher numbers. I'd definitely recommend Dans Fish

Seller Reply: I was sorry to hear that you received 2 snails that were not up to your standards. Your review made me realize I should have done a better job describing the snails' shell quality on our website. I've corrected that, so future snail buyers will be aware that wild snails sometimes have chips in their shells. I appreciate you bringing that to our attention in your review. My only complaint is the 4 female yellow guppies I ordered I got 2 male and 2 female... the only reason I ordered 4 females is to keep a 3 female to 1 male ratio. They were super quick with resolution and did not give me a hard time at all when I brought up the error

Comment: I love this eel so much. Aunt Agnes is NOT shy of other fish or humans, she’s super smart and she’s got personality for days. She’s surpassed my koi angel Ben as my favorite fish. She never really “hides”, she just sleeps from sunrise until about 3pm. From 3pm to midnight she is the benevolent queen of my tank. I adore her. I have her in a 75 gallon community tank and she gets along with all the other fish with zero problems.

Comment: So happy with the fish and shrimp I ordered from Dan's Fish. I ordered 7 chili rasboras and they came so healthy. They have settled right in perfect in their new home and with their other nano tank mates. I love watching them school together, so I ordered 8 more for a total of 15. They are so tiny, and I have a 20 gallon long so it will be so cool watching a bigger group of them. They are healthy, and outgoing, they have great appetite and love to swim around and explore. I have always had the best experience with Dan's fish. My livestock always come so healthy and shipped safely. I can't wait to order with you guys again to build up this community nano fish tank.
