Compared to other online shipments this was the first time I had 100% survival rate after 1 day. 1 week later I have ~100 cory eggs in 3 different batches already. It seems like all 6 of them paired up and was at breeding age when sent out. Ember tetras are also doing fine all of them alive and thriving.

  • Comment: This review is based on my recent (and first) order with Dan's Fish. (7) Zebra Loaches arrived via UPS at 11:00 AM individually double bagged along with two identical water filled bags that filled up the empty space in the carton. The carton was lined with (6) 3/4" styrofoam rectangles neatly cut to fit together without gaps. I have some experience packaging items to ship commercially via UPS and was impressed. UPS (or any other similar carrier) will be hard on cartons and if the shipper cares about the content they will anticipate this and package accordingly. I give Dan's Fish a 5 rating for their packaging. The fish arrived healthy and aclimated well. I had ordered the last 7 zebra loaches available and had some concern that I would receive fish from "the bottom of the barrel" but that was not the case. They were all in good shape and I would not have hesitated to pick them out of an aquarium at my local fish store. I give Dan's Fish a 5 rating for their fish quality. Prior to my order I noticed that Dan's Fish did not sell clown loaches and asked about that using their web interface. They responded via email the same day. I am quoting their response here: "Yes, we don't carry clown loaches for ethical reasons. They live a long time, grow large, and do best in big groups, so most aquarists aren't able to properly house them long-term. Because of that we have elected to not sell them. That being said, if someone CAN provide proper housing and care for them long term, then I think they make amazing pets" That response struck a chord with me. I will always support an ethical business if I can. I give Dan's Fish a 5 rating for their business ethics.

  • Comment: Clown Killifish are already colored up after 20 minutes. Amano shrimp are large and healthy as well as the Santa Maria endler pair. Another great experience doing business with Dan's Fish. On a side note, I ordered 12 Chili Rasboras and 10 Long Fin Cherry Barbs back in March. I forgot to leave a review.   • Comment: $70 Pleco died within a few hours, second order I’ve made with Dans and lost 90% of the fish I ordered. Gave 2 stars because I got credit for the 3 loaches that died nearly immediately on my first order. Fish were placed in an already established community tank, all original fish are just fine. Kept an eye on them for hours, no bullying, fin or scale picking, etc. Matched temp and tank parameters accordingly. Ordered 14 fish total, only 4 remain (currently) will be the last time I order from here.

  • Comment: A++ I absolutely love my gobies and Pleco! The blue phantom arrives and he’s kinda white, but after acclimating him, he becomes this beautiful shade of blue. The bird song gobies also arrive white, but after acclimating them and adding them to the tank they have almost a pinkish color. The stiphodon rutilaureus arrives and is a very light pink. After being in the tank they both have GORGEOUS colors. The gobies arrive and they’re very small, but even with the long trip they still arrived in excellent condition. Swimming and eating. I will be back to order more for sure!! I love the options to when u can have them delivered. Wish I could add pictures of these stunning creatures.

  • Comment: My dwarf red tail eel didnt take to vibra bites like advertised only would eat frozen.ended up jumping out of the the tank out of a small opening in lid so he unfortunately perished so that was not my greatest experience. But on the contrary the bloody mary hillstream loach is an amazing fish that is still currently thriving and one of my favorite fish. Always have great shipping experiences with dans fish thank you.

Unfortunately both the female guppy and female Platy died a few weeks later during childbirth. Lost one of the Rainbows and the 2 most recent Reticulated Hillstreams about 1 week after the delivery.

They were shipped later in the afternoon and I received around noon the next day, so it's great they were only in transit for less than a day. All looked good when received and it's been a couple of days and they're all still looking great. Everything with this order was consistent with my past orders and definitely highly recommend Dan's Fish.

These fish WILL jump though. My 2 other Spiketails have jumped & luckily discovered them in time. I had lids but they jumped when I left the lid up when water changing for just a minute. All fish in this order arrived healthy & active & arrived on schedule. GREAT!

  • Comment: 2nd order from dans. Ordered lemon tetras, peacock gudgeons and full green guppies trio. All arrived alive but one femal guppy gave birth and died within the first week. Overall the quality and price from dans are not good. The guarantee of fat sassy and thriving fish are just not there. The individual packaging does give an appearance of extra care but displays a lack of knowledge of fish species as some are better shipped in groups. The full green guppies are blue/green Moscow guppy and in Dan's recent live he discredited this claim. I'm over the fishtube/youtubers gaslighting the community. The biggest problem is unhealthy, overpriced fish and products. I as a 12 yr fish keeper have better success buying from pet smarts and guaranteeing myself.

I've acclimated the fish and added them to a quarantine tank, so far everyone seems healthy, but really stressed out from the shipping process which is to be expected. I ordered a total of 12 fish and 4 shrimp and everybody made the trip half way across the country happy and healthy!! The Lapis Tetras are schooling up and already starting to get a little color. They came in at about 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches, 3 of them were already colored up fairly well, the big one was a little washed out but healthy, that’s the main thing.
